Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) National Academy batted purposefully in their second innings but were still in a difficult position to save the second and final four-day match against Pakistan Cricket Academy at Multan yesterday.
The visitors finished the third day’s play on 132-1, still 51 runs short of making their opponents bat again, with captain Mehrab Hossain (48) and in-form Zahirul Islam (15) in the crease. Opener Nazmus Sadat made his second successive half-century with 58 in the second essay after his 64 in the first innings.
Earlier, the home team took a huge 183-run first innings lead when they declared at 468/5 after batting for 126 overs in reply to BCB Academy’s 285 all out. They resumed the day on 274 for one.
Nasir Jamshed topscored with a massive 173 while Usman Saeed romping to 118. Rezaul Islam was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets.
